The National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), formerly known as Forensic Science University, Gandhinagar, is a premier institution in India that specializes in the field of forensic sciences and law. Established in 2012, the university is located in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, and is dedicated to providing quality education, research, and training in various aspects of forensic sciences and law. The School of Law at NFSU is a key component of the university, offering undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in law. The school is committed to fostering a strong understanding of the legal framework and its intersection with forensic sciences, ensuring that students are well-equipped to tackle the complex challenges of the modern world. The School of Law, Forensic Justice & Policy Studies was established in 2021. This is a degree that aims at preparing tech-proficient lawyers, who can take on several legal challenges that arise in the increasingly tech-savvy world. It is a degree that carries a specialization in Data science and is intended to create lawyers who can especially focus on the area of forensic (which includes digital, financial, and criminal forensics) law and to prepare lawyers who are tech-proficient and in line with the corporate and industrial demand of such lawyers. Talking of the University itself, this is a multi-disciplinary University with many schools present apart from SLFJPS. The University, being an institute of National Importance, and falling under the purview of the MHA, is equipped with good infrastructure and is currently undergoing expansion. The name and reputation that this University has built for itself are reflected in the fact that the Hon’ble VC was awarded the Padma Shri, this Republic Day. The future, therefore, looks bright, not only for the Law department but for the whole University.
